MNINC has agreed to help TENOVUS on their brilliant project this summer, bringing people coping with cancer together to sing in a special event, and we want to let you know about it…
This is a fantastic opportunity to meet other people is a social setting and help you feel empowered to be able to put cancer aside for a while - to SING!
You are remarkable… and we`d love you to be involved because what better way to show:
YOU STAND OUT… your illness doesn`t!
This opportunity is open to anyone currently undergoing or who has recently finished any kind of treatment for cancer - and we urge you to join!
We know that Tenovus is based in Cardiff and you may think this could present some problems with distance (if you don`t live locally) and fatigue - especially if you`re mid/end of treatment regimes, however, we think this is doable, especially if you live within a 60 mile radius of Cardiff (including places such as Bristol and Bath etc) However, that does NOT exclude our MNINC friends living further afield and this project opens up so many wonderful possibilities for you to retain your individuality and not get lost in cancer, we suggest that if you`d like to join in, contact Rosie to talk about logistics! Tenovus will pay travel costs for all singers travelling to/from Cardiff!
Also, to make this as feasible as possible, there`s no expectation for you to attend rehearsals every week: they just want you to come to as many rehearsals as possible, when you can!
The choir will meet in Cardiff (day/time still to be confirmed) but it’s likely to be held late afternoon on a Thursday from mid June to mid September, culminating in a fabulous performance in London! Tenovus are even arranging for some fantastic people to be involved along the way, with a music selection for everyone!
And there’s more…
To add even more excitement, the choir’s progress will be filmed by a production company and broadcast on a national UK channel in October!
This opportunity "rocks"!
So, if you are looking for a way to retain your identity and sense of self despite a cancer diagnosis, and you feel empowered on your own cancer journey by saying: ‘MY NAME IS NOT CANCER’ - contact Rosie at Tenovus via email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
